A change in leadership has breathed new life, and new ideas, into the annual Festival of the Arts event.

After serving on the Stevens Point Festival of the Arts Council for three years, Mark Karlson has taken over the reins as chairman of the annual arts event, which celebrates its 41st year on Sunday in the Noel Fine Arts Center at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

"For the first time, we are giving three UWSP student-artists the opportunity to share one booth and get their feet wet and see how that goes," said Sharon Fujimoto, a member of the festival council and an exhibiting artist. ...
