A pedestrian was injured after being hit by a pickup truck at the intersection of Danz and Deckner avenues near Preble High School on Green Bay's east side on Friday morning.

Injuries were described as non-life threatening by Green Bay police. The pedestrian was taken to St. Vincent Hospital by the Green Bay Metro Fire Department.

The pedestrian was crossing Deckner Avenue in, or near, the crosswalk in front of stopped westbound traffic and was struck by the eastbound pickup, according to police.

The accident occurred just before 7 a.m. Heavy traffic and the sun were factors in the accident, police said.

The driver of the pickup was not injured and was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian, police said.
