A Lena native who's a former pit crew member for modified driver Lance Arneson is living the dream turning wrenches in NASCAR's big leagues.

Twenty-year-old Zach Marquardt, a 2010 graduate of Lena High School, works as what's been termed the "underneath mechanic" on the Roush Fenway Racing Ford Fusion driven by Carl Edwards in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, stock car racing's biggest stage. Despite his youth, Marquardt, who's been racing go-karts or serving as a pit crew member since he was 5, is in the middle of his fourth year of living in Mooresville, N.C.
