This is one of my favorite times of the year. The weather is getting warmer, the days are getting longer and the Milwaukee Brewers have started another season.

Whether we are heading down to Milwaukee to watch a game or watching one on TV, my husband and I like to pair our baseball games with a great meal from the grill. Below is one of our favorite recipes. If you prefer, you can use boneless, skinless chicken breasts instead of the sirloin steaks - both are delicious with the kebabs.

Grilled steak with vegetable kebabs

1 lemon, zested and juiced

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon dried oregano

teaspoon pepper

16 cherry tomatoes

10 ounces white mushrooms, stemmed

1 medium zucchini, sliced into 1-inch pieces

1 small red onion, cut into wedges

4, 4-ounce sirloin steaks

Preheat grill to high. Combine lemon zest, lemon juice, oil, oregano, and pepper in a large bowl. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the marinade. Add tomatoes, mushrooms, zucchini, and onion to the marinade; toss well to coat. Thread the vegetables onto eight 10-inch skewers. Drizzle the vegetables and steaks with the reserved marinade. Grill the steaks 4 to 6 minutes per side for medium. Grill the kebabs, turning frequently, until tender and lightly charred - 8 to 12 minutes total.
