Rome property owners are invited to a meeting at 2 p.m.Sunday at the Rome Municipal Building to discuss per parcel flat fees.
The Rome Town Board approved the collection of public fire protection fees using a per parcel flat fee. The Tri-Lakes Management District also collects a special charge for weed harvesting using the per parcel flat fee.The public fire protection charge will be on the Rome annual meeting agenda for April 16 for an advisory vote. The Tri-Lakes special charge can be addressed by district members by a simple majority vote at the next annual meeting Aug. 31.
Property owners are invited to voice their opinion if this is a fair way to collect these fees and ask questions. Information from the Public Service Commission and Wisconsin Statutes will be available. The meeting is sponsored by concerned property owners.
