Barbershop singers look to be a cut above at Appleton competition (with video)

As the nation continues tuning in to singing-related TV shows such as "American Idol," "Glee" and "The Voice," there is an institution in Stevens Point prepping for its own singing competition.

The Stevens Point Barbershoppers is heading to Appleton on May 18 to compete against other barbershop choruses. There, the Barbershoppers will face off against 11 other groups from across Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The men rehearse two to three hours a week all year and now are finetuning their performance before the contest.
