A trio of De Pere businessmen proposes to renovate the De Pere locktender house on the Fox River for private offices and a coffee shop or other public use.

The proposal by 3 Dam Guys LLC was approved by the Fox River Navigational System Authority and is awaiting state historical society approval because the house is on state and national historic registers.

The navigational authority is responsible for 10 locktender houses along the river. The houses have been empty for decades, and in early 2012 the authority solicited proposals to put them to use. Fox-Wisconsin Heritage Parkway plans to ...
