Ten years ago, Mary Jo Onopa struck up the courage to ask her boss if she could buy the Central Wisconsin Airport shop, Airport Gifts. Now Onopa, a Rib Mountain mother of three, is running the boutique out of Mosinee's airport.

Onopa, however, said her family and God, not business, have been the focus of her life. Last year, Onopa and her husband sent their last child, Nathan, off to college, and the couple have been adjusting to life as empty-nesters.

"That's the hardest thing for me right now, because I'm an empty-nester, the quietness is taking me the longest to get used to," Onopa said. ...
