Teachers and staff at Bay View Middle School in Howard-Suamico - like many - are expected to take seriously every reported bullying incident.

"We don't want kids to think, 'No, I'm not going to report, because no one is going to do anything about it,'" Principal Steve Meyers said.

The National Center for Education Statistics reports that almost a third of teens report being bullied from middle school to high school. About 47 teens are bullied every five minutes and 71 percent of students report bullying as an ongoing problem, according to the U.S. National Institute of Health. Two local groups ...
