A 41-year-old bicyclist and a 75-year-old driver both made mistakes that resulted in the death of the younger man Saturday, authorities said Monday.

Shawn L. Hill, 41, of Wisconsin Rapids was traveling west on the sidewalk on Pepper Avenue before he crossed into the intersection on Eighth Street South without pushing the walk button or waiting for a "walk signal," Wisconsin Rapids Police Lt. Brian Krzykowski said.
