Officials watch for river flooding (with video)

Yellow River nears flood stage; Wisconsin River not currently an issue

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Yellow River.

The river has a tendency to get ice jams and typically floods each spring, Wood County Emergency Management Director Steve Kreuser said.

At this point, the river is not endangering homes, and no one has been asked to prepare for evacuation, Kreuser said. The river runs from Babcock to Castle Rock State Park, passing through the Pittsville and Necedah areas. The monitoring station is in Babcock, Kreuser said. ...
