Shawano man charged with robbery, hold-up attempt

A 47-year-old Shawano man was arrested after a credit union was robbed Monday minutes after a hold-up attempt at a nearby cash advance store.

Darrin H. Church was charged Tuesday in Shawano County Circuit Court with attempted robbery, robbery of a financial institution, obstructing an officer and bail jumping. He faces up to 63.5 years in prison and $145,250 in fines.

Police were called about 3:38 p.m. to a report a man had told an employee to give him all of the money at Cash Tyme Store, 705 E. Green Bay St., according to a Shawano Police Department statement. ...
