College hockey: Gamblers' Lalonde considered for Denver coaching job

Green Bay Gamblers coach Derek Lalonde is being considered for the head hockey coaching position at the University of Denver.

According to CollegeHockeyNews.com, Lalonde is one of two former Denver assistants that are being interviewed this week for the position at the NCAA Division I program, which became open when the school fired George Gwozdecky on April 1 following 19 seasons as head coach.

Before leading the Gamblers to the USHL's Anderson and Clark Cups in his first season with Green Bay last year, Lalonde spent five seasons as an assistant at Denver under Gwozdecky from 2006 to 2011. ...
