Five area food pantries are getting big help to feed hungry families.

The Roundy's Foundation donated almost 2,600 pounds of food and a $500 check each to Green Bay-based First Presbyterian Food Pantry and Resurrection Lutheran Food Pantry, Community Pantry of Pulaski, the Salvation Army of Brown County and the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin Food Pantry. The food included syrup, pancake mix, jelly, cereal and canned goods.

On Wednesday, local pantry volunteers and staff members loaded the food from pallets into vehicles during an event at Copps, 1819 Main St., on Green Bay's east side. ...
