Pulaski school officials look at ways to trim costs, balance budget

School district officials could consider closing or combining schools, laying off teachers or eliminating programs such as World Languages in an effort to balance next year's budget.

The Pulaski School Board heard a number of cost-savings ideas from administrators, who said the district could end up short under a proposed state spending plan that would freeze local tax collections for schools.
