ATC narrows options for power line route

U.S. 41 through Green Bay not among alternatives

American Transmission Co. narrowed the possible routes for new transmission lines from Outagamie County to Oconto County, and they don't include the U.S. 41 corridor through Green Bay.

The Bay Lake Project includes building 345,000-volt and 138,000-volt power lines from the North Appleton Substation on French Road in Freedom to the Morgan substation in Oconto County.

ATC is required to present two possible routes to the state Public Service Commission, which will approve the final path. While eliminating a number of options, ATC has not narrowed it to the two routes yet. ...
