Kewaunee shutdown plan subject of public meeting

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission scheduled a public meeting to discuss the post-shutdown decommissioning activities report for Kewaunee Power Station.

Owner Dominion Resources Inc. plans to permanently shut the plant May 7. It has 60 years in which to decommission and dismantle the plant. The activities report lays out Dominion's plans and timeline.

The meeting will be at 7 p.m. April 24 in Kewaunee City Hall, 401 Fifth St.

The commission will accept public comments regarding the plan.
