The National FFA Organization's mission is to develop premier leadership, personal growth and career success. FFA speaking career development events places students on the fast track to achieving that mission.

Contestants who place first and second at the district speaking contest continue on the road to state FFA speaking contests by competing at the sectional FFA competition. Wisconsin FFA Association is divided into 10 sections; section seven, consisting of 25 schools, held its sectional level speaking contests in Spencer.
