Sales director named at Hotel Marshfield
Hotel Marshfield has named Jessica Barrett director of sales. She is accepting group, meeting and special event reservations in advance of the hotel's reopening this summer and notes the phones have already been busy. Barrett may be reached at 608-819-3082 or email@example.com.
Barrett comes to Hotel Marshfield from The Plaza Hotel & Suites in Wausau, where she served as a sales executive. She is well versed in managing meetings and events for large groups as well as weddings, with a wide range of experience in all areas of hospitality and guest services. Barrett attended both the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and Northcentral Technical College in Wausau. Barrett reports to Cory Latourell, who was announced as general manager of the property last month. When fully staffed, the hotel will employ more than 100 people, including both full- and part-time positions.
Hotel Marshfield is a full-service independent hotel located at 2700 S. Central Ave. It is locally owned by Marshfield Hospitalities LLC, with redevelopment and management duties assigned to IDM Group LLC, Madison.
Cummins Filtration wins safety award
Cummins Filtration Inc. of Neillsville is one of 18 companies selected by the Wisconsin Safety Council and the state's Department of Workforce Development to receive the 2012 Wisconsin Corporate Safety Award.
Cummins Filtration designs and manufactures air, fuel, hydraulic and lube filtration, chemicals and exhaust system products for engine-powered equipment.
The winning companies were judged by a panel of 35 safety, health and human resource professionals on their health leadership, training and implementation programs, employee participation and safety accomplishments and goals.
Cummins Filtration will receive the award during the Annual Wisconsin Safety & Health Conference and Expo in Wisconsin Dells April 23-24.
Wenzel's earns product awards
The exceptional quality of meat products produced by Harry C. Wenzel & Sons Inc. of Marshfield was recognized at the 74th annual convention of the Wisconsin Association of Meat Processors, held in Madison on April 4 to 7.
At the Meat Product Show held in conjunction with that meeting, Harry C. Wenzel & Sons Inc. received the following product awards: Bavarian Bratwurst Champion and Braunschweiger Champion; and honorable mention for Polska Kielbasa.
Research institute names panel members
Daniel Wall of Spencer has been appointed by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) to serve on PCORI's newly established stakeholder Advisory Panel on Assessment of Prevention, Diagnosis, and Treatment Options. The 21-member panel represents different sectors across the healthcare community, including researchers, clinicians, patients, caregivers, insurers, employers, policymakers, and industry. Wall will be participating in the advisory panel representing patients and caregivers. He will travel to Alexandria, Va., April 19-20, for the orientation and first meeting.
Wall is an applications analyst in Biomedical Informatics Research Center, Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation. He was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in 2000 and has endured numerous surgeries and hospitalizations in his efforts to manage his disease. He has experience in pre-hospital emergency care including firefighting operations, hazardous materials, and emergency medical services and has served on a number of fire departments and is currently licensed as an EMT Basic. He is part of the First Responder Team at the Marshfield Clinic and Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital and volunteers in the Pediatrics Department at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital, where he provides support for patients and their families.
