I spotted my first robin just a few days ago. Spring is coming, spring is coming!
We also know it's true because a few familiar faces have been spotted at Lowell Center. Welcome back, snowbirds. We hope to see many more as the weather continues to warm up.
? Sunday opening will be April 21. Doors will open at 1 p.m., bingo starts at 1:30 p.m. with 20 games, $1 per card with a two-card maximum. You are also invited to use the pool room, play cards (rooms available on first come basis) and enjoy your center until 4:30 p.m.
? Cash bingo will be played Thursday. 20 games will be played, $1 per card with a two-card maximum. Everyone age 50 and better is welcome to play.
? Packers Heritage Trail and Show will be July 24. Want to learn a bit of history about how the team and Green Bay came together? Seats are available for the Packers Heritage Trail trip, which also includes a musical show "Through Curley's Eyes" and lunch at St. Norbert's College. With an 8 a.m. departure, cost is $85 per person. Stop by Lowell Center to make a deposit to hold your seat.
? Two Mah-jongg groups are meeting at Lowell Center. We are a new group learning the game and invite you to join us. All experience levels are welcome. Groups meet at 8:30 a.m. Tuesdays and 1:30 p.m. Wednesdays. If you are interested in playing, stop in to join either session.
? Journal with Joan. Everyone has a story. Have you ever considered putting your story onto paper? This project is the perfect opportunity to do just that as we give you a bit of help to get the memories flowing and time to put them into a journal. The class with start on June 19, give Joan a call at 715-422-2777 to find out more information about joining.
? We love our volunteers. National Volunteer Week is April 22 to 26, and the staff at Lowell Center wants to thank each and every volunteer at Lowell Center. Because of you the programs exist, run smoothly and your dedication keeps the seniors coming back. A special celebration will be held on the afternoon of May 30. Mark your calendar.
