Time is getting short. The second "Veterans Reunion" at the Grand Rapids Lions Club on Highway W is getting closer. Calendar May 18 for this event important to veterans, their families and friends.

Following VFW Post 2534 April's meeting, the movie "The Pride of the Yankees," starring Gary Cooper as Yankee first baseman Lou Gehrig, will be shown.

Senior Vice Todd Boudreau is working on a Walleye Fishing Tournament on the Wisconsin River in Nekoosa for Wednesday. Those interested should call him by Monday to arrange participation. Each boat entering needs one VFW member aboard. They will launch from the Nekoosa boat landing. The cost is $10 per boat with all money going to the winners.

Please encourage those you know who are eligible for the VFW to come out to a meeting to learn what the VFW is about and to consider joining. Our next meeting is Thursday.
