The average retail price for a gallon of gasoline in Green Bay has fallen around 5 cents in the past week to $3.60, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 127 gas outlets.
The price is around 29 cents lower than a year ago and around 8 cents lower than a month ago.
The U.S. average was $3.51 a gallon. That is about 38 cents a gallon less than a year ago and about 14 cents less than a month ago.
"The year-on-year savings is approaching 40 cents a gallon in some spots -- not necessarily hitting the lottery, but every cent counts," said GasBuddy.com senior petroleum analyst Patrick DeHaan. "As we get closer to Memorial Day, there's also the chance of an increase in pricing volatility thanks to refinery maintenance season that will be gradually coming to a close."
