Packers add another street free agent

Apr. 15, 2013

The Green Bay Packers continue to test the market with little-known free agents and Monday's addition of former Fuman wide receiver Sederrik Cunningham is no exception.

A 5-foot-11, 198-pound speedster, Cunningham had 95 catches for 1,196 yards and seven touchdowns in 44 career appearances at Furman, one of the nationís smallest NCAA Division I programs located in Greenville, South Carolina.

Cunningham, who also competed on the schoolís track and field team, also has experience returning kickoffs with 66 career returns for 1,549 yards and one touchdown.

Cunningham saw his most action on kickoff returns during his senior year in 2011 when he had 32 returns for 853 yards (26.7-yard per return) with his lone touchdown return.

During his Furman Pro Day in March 2012, the 23-year-old Cunningham ran a 4.46-second time in the 40-yard dash. He becomes only the sixth wide receiver on the current Packersí roster following the offseason departures of Donald Driver (retirement) and Greg Jennings (free agency-Minnesota).

His brother, Jason, played football at Western Kentucky and Gannon while his father, Wardell, played collegiate football at Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

All four of the Packersí additions this offseason have been street free agents, including former California kicker Giorgio Tavecchio and Houston cornerback Loyce Means, who were both out of football this past season.
