April snow causes problems on local roads

The streets around Stevens Point were slick and slippery on Sunday, as 2.6 inches of snow fell in the area, with Amherst seeing 3 inches of powder, according to the National Weather Service office in Green Bay.

The Stevens Point Police Department reported two crashes related to snow on Sunday, but the Portage County Sheriff's Office responded to several, and county dispatchers said they were too busy taking calls Sunday afternoon to count them all.
