This year's Family Sweetheart Dance will be a Pirates and Princesses Party on May 3.
April is Celebrate Families Month at the Central Wisconsin Children's Museum. There are a lot of family-friendly programs coming up in the next few months. Some opportunities include:
? Adult Art Uncorked Presents Metalsmith Jewelry Making, featuring artist Sarah Nerad from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. April 30 at Central Wisconsin Children's Museum.
Create your very own ring and pendant. Learn basic metalsmithing techniques using copper, brass or sterling silver; saw, file, sand, texture metal and use cold connections to create jewelry; bring your favorite bottle of wine (optional). Light appetizers will be provided.
Advance registration is required. Workshop fee is $55 (includes brass and copper metal); $15 extra to use sterling silver for one of the pieces. Register at the museum's front desk or by calling Jordan at 715-344-2003.

The Family Sweetheart Dance is a memorable evening for the entire family. Together, parents and children enjoy a catered spaghetti dinner, music, dancing, pirate and princess crafts, photo booth and a dance performance. All event proceeds will be used to support family learning exhibits and programming at the museum. Advanced tickets cost $15 for adults and $10 for children. (Tickets increase by $5 at the door.) Tickets can be purchased by at the museum's front desk or by calling 715-344-2003.
? Kids Walk will begin at 10 a.m. June 1 at Pfiffner Park.
The fun and excitement begins at 10 a..m. from the band shell at Pfiffner Pioneer Park. Children of all ages are invited to participate in the 1.3- or 2.6-mile walk along the Wisconsin River. Cost is $5 per child or $10 per family. A parent or guardian must accompany children.
Refreshments will be available along the route and at the end of the kids' walk. If your child is up for the challenge, walk with him or her for the quarter-marathon (6.5 miles) of Walk Wisconsin. Register at walkwisconsin.com. You also can register the day of the event at Pfiffner Pioneer Park.
? Explore & More Day Camps will be offered week days or Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon for children ages 3 to 6 and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for children ages 6 to 9 in June and August workshops available in June and August.
