Merrill grad Jesperson leaves Virginia basketball program

Merrill grad Paul Jesperson is leaving the Virginia men's basketball team, the school announced Monday.

Jesperson started in 33 of 35 games last season as a sophomore for the Cavaliers. A 6-foot-6 shooting guard, he averaged 4.7 points and 2.2 rebounds in 25 minutes per game for a team that went 23-12 and reached the National Invitation Tournament quarterfinals.

Jesperson revealed on Twitter his decision to leave the program. ...
