Three Marshfield area runners safe following Boston Marathon explosions

At least three Marshfield runners were participating Monday in the Boston Marathon.

News-Herald Media spoke with Bryan DeVries, who has been in contact with his daughter, Nicki Kitchner, who said that both her and her husband, Shawn Kitchner, were safe.

"I spoke with my daughter and Shawn had crossed the finish line, and by the time the explosions had taken place, they had already been at a friend's apartment for about 30 minutes," DeVries said. ...
