MSTC board approves Ellis Stone as contractor for downtown campus

The Mid-State Technical College Board of Trustees on Monday moved along plans for the new Stevens Point campus, with a planned opening date of January 2014 still on track.

At its monthly meeting, the board unanimously accepted the low bid of $3.7 million from Ellis Stone Construction Co. of Stevens Point. That amount is for the first project, which includes the acquisition of the J.C. Penney wing of the former CenterPoint MarketPlace. Construction can now begin immediately.
