Base Camp Coffee Bar in Sister Bay re-opens for the season April 18 with a silent auction of pastel paintings by Kay McKinley Arneson starting that day. Ten percent of the proceeds from the auction will go to the Newport Wilderness Society, a nonprofit, educational organization serving Newport State Park as its official friends' volunteer group.

The Ellison Bay resident's paintings range from whimsical figurative works to interpretations of Door County's natural beauty, executed in colorful, confident strokes. This is the third time she has shown her work at Base Camp, with her "Prints ...
