John and Yvonne Dwonch, Baileys Harbor, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on April 27.

John Dwonch, originally from Hoboken, N.J., and Yvonne Smith, Green Bay, were married April 27, 1963, at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay.

Yvonne's mother was from Egg Harbor and her father from Sister Bay. The couple lived in Illinois and Wisconsin during their married life. John worked at Zenith Electronic, Chicago, and is a retired U.S. Navy Reserve officer. He is currently employed with Independent Inspections Ltd. as a building inspector in Door County.

Yvonne retired as an elementary teacher in Illinois and worked various jobs in Door County.

The Dwonches are active in American Folklore Theatre, Door County Auditorium, Peninsula Players and the Nor-Door Golf League.

They have two daughters and six grandchildren. Their daughter Michelle Lee-Anchuetz and Christian live in Johnsburg, Ill. Daughter Yvette Esparza and Noah live in Oak Harbor, Wash.

To celebrate the couple took a river cruise from Basil, Switzerland, along the Rhine, Mainz and Danube rivers through southern Germany to Vienna, Austria.
