Brown Co. human services chief to leave for state job

He calls it the most fulfilling job of his career, but Brian Shoup plans to step down as executive director of Brown County human services to work for the state of Wisconsin.

Shoup will leave May 17 to head the state's Division of Long Term Care, which oversees long-term support and services for the elderly and people with disabilities. He notified county lawmakers this week, citing the chance to "help Wisconsin be a leader in long-term care."

"I hope that we were good stewards of the taxpayers' dollars," said Shoup, who credited his department heads and staff with providing quality service ...
