Riverwalk grand opening May 4

Event will showcase newly added fishing and viewing piers

A couple of individuals walk on the new wildlife-viewing pier that is part of the De Pere Riverwalk on the east side of the Fox River. A grand opening for the completed riverwalk, which also includes a fishing pier, will be May 4.

A grand opening for the completed De Pere Riverwalk is planned for Saturday, May 4.

The downtown venue, which stretches from Voyageur Park to Government Island on the east side of the Fox River, recently was re-opened for public access.

A portion of the riverwalk debuted last June. Construction ensued in the fall for fishing and wildlife-viewing piers. Those additions were finished earlier this year. ...
