Manitowoc marathoners reflect on Boston tragedy

Bill Dietrich has run in the Boston Marathon three times and once he crossed the finish line only a few minutes later than when the devastating bombs went off Monday.

The clock showed 4:09:44 when the first explosion occurred, resulting in three deaths and nearly 200 wounded.

"I would probably have been right in that timeframe ... it's pretty scary," said Dietrich, a Manitowoc resident and Valders Middle School track coach, who once ran the Boston Marathon in 4 hours, 6 minutes. ...
