One of the goals of United Way of Inner Wisconsin's Volunteer Center is to recruit and match volunteers for non-profit organizations needing your help in south Wood and Adams counties. The following are this week's volunteer opportunities.

Lowell Center: Looking for someone proficient in computer usage to teach others to do basic things such as learning to use their new computers, email, searching the web and how to use basic computer programs such as Word and Excel. Must be willing to devote one to two hours one day per week. Appointments will be set up for you. There is no training requirement. Should be comfortable teaching others how to use a computer. A background check is required for all volunteers.

The Neighborhood Table: The Neighborhood Table needs a variety of volunteers for several tasks, including: bakery pickup team, carry-out meal coordinator, Feeding America procurement volunteer, food and supplies inventory coordinator, kitchen helper, meal coordinator, site closer and sponsor.

United Way of Inner Wisconsin's Volunteer Center: Disaster Volunteer Reception Center, or VRC, volunteers are needed. A disaster VRC fields spontaneous volunteers in the event of a disaster; volunteers are screened, interviewed and oriented before being matched with a disaster volunteer opportunity. Disaster VRC volunteers need to attend a training and exercises.

Family Center Inc.: Environmental services volunteer is needed. Volunteer will help provide a clean and safe environment for those seeking our services. Volunteer must be older than 18; able to work alone with little direction; will be working with cleaning chemicals such as bleach; and hours will vary depending on your schedule. All volunteers will be expected to sign a confidentiality agreement and will be required to agree to a background check.
