The Better Business Bureau is sponsoring a Secure Your ID Day-Shredfest on Saturday in Green Bay.

People can bring up to three boxes of personal documents to be shredded and representatives will provide advice on how to protect yourself from identity theft.

Canceled checks, receipts, credit card and bank statements, old paycheck stubs and old monthly bills are all suggested as items to shred.

In addition, BBB suggests shredding documents with Social Security numbers, birth dates, PINs or passwords, banking documents and other financial information, leases, contracts or letters that include signatures, pre-approved credit card applications, medical or dental bills, travel itineraries or used airline tickets.

The event is set for 8:30 to 11 a.m. at Associated Bank, 2550 W. Mason St.
