Beer Man: Praga Dark Lager is fine example of Czech tradition

Once upon a time, in 1795, a brewery in what is now the Czech Republic started operations. It made a beer with the Budweiser name that was shipped to the U.S. several years before Anheuser-Busch started producing a beer with the same moniker in St. Louis.

In recent years, after more than a century of legal tussling over trademarks, the brewery sold its rights to the Budweiser name to AB InBev, the foreign-based company that now owns the Budweiser brand, and the Czech brewery is now named Pivovar Samson.
