Letters: Apartment complex staff is caring

5:59 PM, Apr. 18, 2013  |  Comments

Having moved back to Neenah from King, after my husband's death last fall, I was hoping to move back into the Highlands at Mahler Park. However, all apartments were rented out. I then looked for another apartment in the area.

I have now lived in two that are in no way similar. They did not have inside activity areas, underground parking, excellent staff, repair personnel, elevators, laundry, library and an exercise room - all of it inside the facility.

The Highlands also has many games, both card and board, available most days and anyone can come and play. Decisions are made based on rooms available, not who you are.

The manager, while having to make decisions based on corporate guidelines, always discussed decisions made with the residents. While I did not always agree, I understood that she must look at all the needs of all residents, not just me, and I accepted them.

I have put a deposit in with the Highlands and, while it may be a long time, I will be ready to move.

Appleton
