The Rawhide Boys Ranch was chosen as the beneficiary for the 2013 Grand Gala, sponsored by Merrill Lynch.

The group was chosen for its commitment for serving at-risk families, said Joseph Jacque, Merrill Lynch vice president, in a statement.

The Grand Gala will be Sept. 27 at the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center, 2040 Airport Drive, Ashwaubenon.

Rawhide was founded in 1965 by Bart Starr and his wife, Cherry and John and Jan Gillespie. It offers prevention-based programs for at-risk boys, girls, adults and families and intensive residential services for at-risk young men.

Last year, the gala raised $196,000 for Cerebral Palsy Inc. The gala has raised nearly $1.5 million for local initiatives over the past 11 years.
