The secret to a classic Firehouse sub sandwich doesn't come because of the decor, but it helps. It's a little bit like a real firehouse with uniforms hanging on walls and even a used duffel bag next to boots in a closet-like enclosure near the kitchen.

But the real secret is in the preparation.
