11:50 AM, Apr. 18, 2013  |  Comments

The Algoma High School junior class has set the date of April 27 for its 2013 prom. The theme this year is "Neon," and the prom will be held at the Algoma High School Gymnasium from 8 p.m. to midnight. The Grand March begins at 8:30 p.m.

The class has been creating decorations for the event and thanks Algoma Lumber for its donation. The juniors issued a special recognition and thanks to Lyle Schmiling, who is building a wooden arch and platforms for the court. The class also thanks "all the parents, community members, and businesses that have donated items to make our prom successful."

Star Mobile Entertainment will be providing the music and lights for the event. The male members of court are renting their tuxedos from Tina Marie's Boutique. Flowers and other novelties are being provided by Steele Street Floral.

Tickets cost $10 for a couple, $6 for an individual and $3 for a spectator. All tickets will be sold the night of prom. Presale tickets are available the week of prom during lunch at a table in the cafeteria.

The Junior Prom Court includes Kennedy Blahnik, Leah Blazkovec, Jade LeDocq, Meg Ryan, Emily Wiese, Shante Williams, Cody Haucke, Sam Koss, Quin Lohenry, Bryson Madden, Hunter Prokash and Ethan Ray.

Post Prom will follow the dance from 12:30 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. Prom cleanup will also occur immediately after the event. Post Prom is still seeking volunteers and donations. Please contact the guidance office at (920) 487-7001, Ext. 2306, if you can help.
