Newman Catholic Elementary School: St. Mark Parish

St. Mark students give back to community and abroad

On April 3, Newman Catholic Elementary School: St. Mark students presented several nonprofit organizations with donation funds that had been raised at the annual NCES: St. Mark Giving Store. At Christmas time, the students shopped for Christmas gifts for family, friends and pets at the Giving Store. Now they have given the proceeds back to the community.

Each class chose a charity or nonprofit organization to receive their portion of the profits. It was a good learning opportunity for the students as they researched and selected recipients.

The following organizations each received $200: World Teach, American Cancer Society, Make a Wish, St. Mark Church, Circle of Joy Food Pantry and NCS Scholarship program. This giving is a strong declaration of the mission of Newman Catholic Schools.
