Name: Lynn Kloke

Residence: Weston

Age: 58

Employment: Retired/disabled

Family: Single, my dog Gunner

Years of service as a volunteer: Almost 3 years

Favorite volunteer activities: At the present, I deliver hot home meals for the Aging & Disability Resource Center. In the past I've been a member of Pheasants Forever and volunteer board member of the Racine chapter. I also volunteered as a member of the Cardiac Capers which was a fundraiser for the cardiac program at St. Mary's Hospital in Racine.

Tell about a volunteer experience: When I retired, I had a lot of free time and wanted to do something that was meaningful to me, so I began volunteering. I deliver meals twice a week on two different routes for the Aging & Disability Resource Center. It gives me a chance to interact with all types and ages of people. In some cases, we are the only outside daily contact our customers have. I always like to spend a couple of minutes chatting with them to see how they are doing and exchange pleasantries. The people are so appreciative of the contact and service that is provided as it may be the only hot meal they get for the day. The smiles on their faces always gives me a good feeling inside. Volunteer drivers are always needed. I can't think of a better way spend a couple of hours.
