Hello Waupun,

We have an update for all of our City residents regarding our Brush/Leaf pick-up dates. Because of the inclement weather the Public Works department is extending city-wide pickup for another week. The last day for pick-ups will now be May 6. Let's hope we have a chance to dry out and get some of our out-side spring work done!

Waupun Festivals has done it again! Another event is coming to Waupun that the whole family can enjoy. A REAL Circus, the World's Biggest Big Top Show - yes, Carson & Barnes Circus is coming to Waupun on Friday, July 26 with shows at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The Circus is celebrating their 76th Anniversary this year and has produced over 30,000 performances to audiences numbering in the millions.

The circus will be arriving in Waupun by 5 a.m. on the morning of Friday, July 26 and will be setting up the tent on the corners of Mayfair Street and Shaler Dr. The public is welcome to come and watch the age old tradition of the elephants and dozens of workers as they erect the huge tent. It takes about four hours to set-up, this tent holds over 2,000 people.

The shows feature over 50 performers including, acrobats, clowns, jugglers and trapeze artists. Trained elephants, camels, horses, dogs and Katy, a pygmy hippo add to the fun. A petting zoo, elephant rides and camel rides are available before and after the shows. Circus information and tickets are available now at www.carsonbarnescircus.com. More information, local ticket outlets and updates will be posted at www.waupunfestivals.com.

Last evening at our special City Council meeting the council members approved my appointments to various city committees, boards and commissions. I will give you the latest updated information in next week's article.

Until next week?

Mayor Jodi
