1 April 21 - Fond du Lac County Historical Society Annual Meeting/Dinner 11:30 a.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall. The cost of the dinner is $15 for members and $19 for nonmembers. 2 April 21 - Mt. Calvary Ambulance Service Inc 12th Annual Brat Fry 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mt. Calvary Firehouse. Flight for Life will be landing at 11 a.m. and Theda Star at 3 p.m., pending availability, and Sunshine the Clown will be on-site from 1 to 3 p.m. Event to feature chicken breast sandwiches, brats, burgers, homemade desserts, beer, soda and activities, along with a 50/50 raffle with cash prizes. 3 April 21 - The Fond du Lac Symphonic Band Pops Concert 3:00 p.m. at the FHS PAC. There is no admission charge for general seating. Free-will offering and reserved sponsors' seating, which is available at $15 per single main floor seat, and $100 per mezzanine box, with seating for four people. 4 Reservations by April 22 - A Shopping Trip for Gardeners: The Fond du Lac County Master Gardeners, sponsored by the University of Wisconsin Extension, are offering a motor coach trip on May 9. The one-day trip will go to Ebert's Greenhouse in Ixonia, Country Gardens in Oconomowoc, Shady Acres in New Berlin, Johnson's Nursery and Shady Lane Greenhouse in Menomonee Falls. 5 April 22 - Moraine Park Culinary Art's Earth Day Open House 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the cyber center cafeteria. Students from the Culinary Arts program will share projects that focus on preparing food in a sustainable way. Learn more about the following subjects by attending: Aquaponics, hydroponics, dehydration, cheese making, urban gardening, window gardening, microgreens, plant cloning, sprouting seeds, and juicing. 8 April 24 - Jazz Band Chili Supper 6 p.m. in the Bessie Allen Middle School cafeteria. 9 April 25 - The ADVOCAP Fresh Start Program Open House 1 to 5 p.m. at 210 N. Park Ave in FDL. Fresh Start is an employment and training program for 17-24 year olds that helps them overcome their employability and self-sufficiency barriers. While the participants are in the program, they are building a Wisconsin Green Built Home. The open house is a dedication to the participants hard work, and a dedication to the new homeowner. 10 April 26 - Shepherd of the Hills Catholic School 5 Year Old Kindergarten Screening 8:15 a.m., 9:15 a.m., 10:15 a.m., 12:15 p.m., and 1:15 p.m. This screening assesses developmental readiness including verbal, motor, and memory skills. Screenings last approximately one hour and up to four students can be screened at a time. Parents of four and/or five year children interested in enrolling their child in our Five Year Old Kindergarten class at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic School should contact the school office to sign up for a screening appointment. 12 Deadline April 26: Rosenow Scholarship The Rosenow Elementary School PTO is offering three scholarships of $500 each to graduating seniors who have attended Rosenow Elementary School and who plan on continuing their education at either a college or technical school. Applications may be obtained from the Fond du Lac High School, WLA, and St. Mary's Springs guidance departments, or from the Rosenow School office. Applications must be submitted to the Rosenow School office by the end of the school day on Friday, April 26.
