Baseball roundup: L-C, Denmark split twinbill

LUXEMBURG - Luxemburg-Casco and Denmark split a Bay Conference baseball doubleheader Saturday afternoon. L-C won the opener 10-6, and the Vikings came back to win the second game 8-6.

In Game 1, Caleb Willems allowed just two earned runs in eight innings to pick up the win, as well as hitting two doubles and collecting four RBIs. Joey Paider went 3-for-3 and Brent Kuehl added a two-run home run for the Spartans (3-2, 2-1).

Kendall Meyer had three hits and Ryan Havolivitz had two hits, including a two-run home run, in Game 2 for Denmark. Nick Kauflak had five total hits and four RBIs in the twinbill for the Vikings (2-1).

Seymour 8-10, Oconto Falls 1-2

SEYMOUR - Nate Zeise went 3-for-3 with four RBIs to lead Seymour in the first game.

In Game 2, Casey Jefson, Bret Rottier and Colton Schenk each had two hits for the Thunder.

Taylor Brabant went 2-for-3 with a double for Oconto Falls.

Manitowoc 5, De Pere 3

MANITOWOC - Brennan Mrotek and A.J. Anderson held De Pere to two hits in a nonconference game.

Mrotek and Nick Spurney each had two hits for the Ships (2-0), and Alex Jorgensen took the loss for De Pere (1-1).

Sheboygan South 14-10, Ashwaubenon 0-3

SHEBOYGAN - The Redwings dominated offensively and on the mound, rolling to the doubleheader sweep.

Sheboygan North 7, Pulaski 0

PULASKI - North scored a pair of unearned runs in the first inning and added five more in the seventh.

David Halla had two hits to lead Pulaski.

Oconto 11, Coleman 4

COLEMAN - Trent Mehlberg had three hits and two RBIs and Grant Frazer had two hits, including a home run in the first inning, for Oconto.

Peshtigo 3, Stephenson 2

PESHTIGO - Zach Zeumann, Jordan Berth and Matt Borkovec combined to give up only one hit - a two-run homer by Alex Starzynsky with two outs in the seventh inning.

Derek Koronkiewicz had two hits and an RBI for Peshtigo.

Crandon 10, Wausaukee 6

WAUSAUKEE - Crandon scored six runs in the ninth inning.

Hortonville 20-11, Shawano 1-0

HORTONVILLE - Chase Henning hit a solo home run in Game 1 for Shawano (0-3) to provide the only run for the Hawks in two games.
