Lambs born by the hundreds at Manitowoc County farm

Visitors to Hidden Valley Farm & Woolen Mill this time of year just might have a chance to watch a lamb being born. April is lambing season at the farm on Newton Road south of Valders, and around 300 of the little creatures have been born since late March.

"We try to start April 1, and we try and compact the lambing so I'm done by the 21st," said owner Paul Wagner, although it sometimes stretches a bit longer than that.

On Friday, three lambs had been born by 9:30 a.m., according to Paul, who owns the farm with his wife, Carol. Later that morning, he helped with a breech birth. He thought that left only nine ...
