New Marshfield water tower would cover demand

The city of Marshfield's "skyline" would feature a new water tower by 2015 if the Marshfield Utilities construction application is approved by the Wisconsin Public Service Commission.

"The city is growing, expanding to the south. ... As it expands, there's an increased demand for water and for additional fire protection," said David Wasserburger, the utility's water superintendent, in a phone interview Tuesday.

Marshfield Utilities wants to construct a 500,000-gallon elevated storage tower on 15 acres it purchased last year for about $200,000 from Woodstock Construction, ...
