Area farmers are looking for residents to invest in their businesses.

New Leaf Foods Inc., a nonprofit that includes farmers and community leaders, held a mini farmers market preview Sunday at Harmony Cafe, 1660 W. Mason St. Eight farmers attended and sold food.

The four-hour event was also in support of community supported agriculture, commonly called a CSA. That model involves farmers selling shares to consumers in order to buy the equipment and supplies needed to grow crops. In return, consumers typically receive fresh produce weekly or bi-weekly during the growing season. ...
