Love and marriage: a great combination. Money and marriage: often it's not so great. It's said that money is the No. 1 problem in marriage. If you are about to get married or are newly married, getting off on the right foot from a monetary perspective is actually pretty simple - if you're willing to talk it through.

Before you get married, talk honestly with each other about your money. Discuss how much each of you earns, how much you have saved and how much, if any, debt each of you owes. Share your credit records. Determine if you are spenders or savers and who is going to be the primary money manager ...
