Arborview Court assisted living staff members credited for quick actions during fire

Two people were injured Saturday in a fire at a nursing home where staff members are being credited with preventing far more serious injuries.

One employee at Arborview Court assisted living center was taken to Riverview Medical Center after suffering from smoke inhalation, and a resident was injured in a fall as the center was being evacuated, Wisconsin Rapids Deputy Fire Chief Scott Young said. The names of those transported and their conditions were not available as of Saturday evening.

Damage was contained to a resident's room, where the fire appears to have started in a rocking chair. ...
